New England Conservatory on April 9th, 2017
The recital is titled "Scaaary" because I'm absolutely terrified!! And that alone, will most definitely bring a scaaary musical performance to those of you who enjoy attending edgy performances. The main fuel for this overwhelming Fear, is that I have taken on the challenge of playing the daunting Liszt Sonata- yes, THAT loong rendition of musical hell and heaven tossing back and forth for relentless 30 minutes with no break in between!! However, it won't be all too scaaary, as I have other fearless world class musicians, and performers who will be joining me on stage, whether it be clowning (!! with brilliant Marty Levin) masterfully playing the other piano (Prokofiev #3 with spectacular pianist Roberto Poli!!), and more. I will also be playing a few of my original works for the piano, piano and voice, and surprise arrangement for funk guitar, bass, and voice. Oh and last but not least, I'm going to be having some Fun!! fooling around with some Beethoven and Mozart inspired perhaps by the great Victor Borge.
So if you find the programming, bizzare and questionable, or skeptical that the hands of this writer can indeed, play such a master piece ( Liszt)- come and see it for yourself. Because the truth is, I have NO confidence, nor guarantee for a successful execution for any of the above. And THAT, folks, is SCAAAARY . . . . !!!
